What's New From Our Partners:

The non-profit International Distance Education Certification Center (www.idecc.org) has announced that it is making its distance learning course recognition program available to higher education institutions in January 2007.  Information about this service is available at www.QualityCourseRecognition.com  Over the past six years IDECC has examined and certified over one thousand distance learning courses in various professional education areas.  The IDECC course recognition process is a self-study process based on 27 Standards, 50 Criteria, and 104 Practices.

The Quality Course Recognition (QCR) service is an iterative process through which professional reviewers (doctoral degreed with vast experience in designing and delivering online courses) examine the courses to determine if they meet the IDECC quality standards.  All documentation and communication during the review process is archived in IDECC’s course review management system.  Because the QCR process is based on nationally accepted standards, an internal self-study, and an external professional review, this service is extremely valuable as schools document their quality assurance efforts in preparation for regional accreditation reaffirmation.

In addition to reviewing individual courses, IDECC will also offer a program which can recognize the distance learning program as a whole.  A nominal fee is assessed to cover stipends paid to reviewers and administrative costs.  No annual subscription nor faculty training fees are involved.

IDECC.org is also the provider of the Certified Distance Education Instructor program (CDEI).  DECADE Consulting is assisting IDECC in increasing awareness of this prestigious certification among collegiate faculty.

The Certified Distance Education Instructor (CDEI) program is designed to be used by persons preparing to teach professional education and academic courses via a variety of distance education delivery methods such as Internet, CBT, and other modes of distance education.  Students becoming certified will have an excellent credential and knowledgebase by which to begin or continue their work facilitating distance education courses.  Learn more about becoming a Certified Distance Education Instructor.
